From the Reviewer

The Fully Jarvis Bamboo curved standing desk is a sturdy piece of kit with minimal wobble. The experience from the moment of ordering, delivery and construction was a smooth process however was let down by a manufacturing defect upon delivery which I have no doubt support will get sorted once they are past the Christmas period. Outside of that, the desk is an amazing piece of kit that, had it come without defects would have received a perfect 5 out of 5 but, for these reasons, scores lower.

The time has come for me to replace my trusty homemade office desk which has served me well whilst working from home, gaming and even making video content for PerformancePSU &#; It really is a sad time as I become quite attached to it. The desk has been with me for well over a decade and has seen good times and bad, but, I am getting too old now to be constantly sitting in one spot.

My creaking back is not what it used to be and I needed the flexibility of a height-adjustable standing desk for those days when I am just struggling to sit in the desk chair.

Before we dive into this standing desk review, I wanted to brush over the competition. While the Fully Jarvis Bamboo Standing Desk is perfect for my needs, I didn&#;t want an all-out gaming desk like the Secret Labs Magnus Pro with RGB lighting nor did I want something as Quirky as Ikea&#;s IDÅSEN Height Adjustable desk which I didn&#;t feel was that aesthetically pleasing.

The only other real options that it come down to at this point were between the Fully Jarvis desk and a Flexispot desk.

Fully Jarvis Bamboo Review

So, after a month of research, weighing up the pros and cons of all of the height adjustment desks available, I decided on a Fully Jarvis Bamboo. It was a hard decision with many of the other options coming in close. After all was said and done, I ended up grabbing the 180cm x 80cm with the added curve but, after a month of usage, what do I think of this premium standing desk from Fully? let us find out

Unboxing

Five boxes delivered

The Fully Jarvis comes in five different boxes.

Branding on the underside of the Bamboo desktop

One holding the bamboo office desktop.

Fully Jarvis Columns

Another box holds the electrically adjustable columns.

Standing Desk Feet

The second to last box holds the desk feet.

Jarvis Handset Module

The final box contained the memory and adjustment module.

Overall, Unboxing the Fully Jarvis Bamboo standing desk was a task unto itself coming with various boxes that included the tabletop, legs, tools and other accessories that were supplied however, it was not a hard task and can easily be handled by one person.

Construction

Unpacking the Jarvis Standing Desk Frame

Putting the Fully Jarvis Bamboo together was a breeze. The boxes were rather large and it likely helped the construction process by having a helping hand to flip the top, get things put together and get it all set up. I think if I was doing it alone it would have taken me a lot longer to complete.

Tools were provided by Fully, but I found myself using my own to keep the process going smoothly with less fiddling around.

Build Quality

As I mentioned before, there were several standing desks available that I could choose from but went for the Fully Jarvis for the weight it can withstand and the wobble, but how did it do?

Inspecting the Bamboo build quality

Honestly, outside of the desktop, I&#;m very impressed with the frame itself. I have not been paid to write this review either. Of course, there is a slight bit of wobble at full extension but that is to be expected with any desk where the centre of gravity is set so high. That being said, the side base on the feet helps with stability and there is no obvious wobble from the legs.

Unfortunate Manufacturing Damage

Fully Jarvis Bamboo Top Manufacturing damage

Despite the frame being of high quality, the same couldn&#;t be said for the desktop which despite looking great, was not free from manufacturing defects. My current desktop has holes in the front where it was not filled properly or there was a defect in the material used.

I do currently have a support request open but am yet to receive a response. I am hoping they get back to me and resolve the issue.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about the build quality. While it is a solid desk, the manufacturing defects did make the whole experience less than desirable.

Update: As expected, I received an update from Fully stating they would love to get the bamboo top rectified. I have sent over pictures of the damage and will await a further response. So far, no complaints in the process although, I would have rather not had to do it at all.

Aesthetics

Pictures can speak a thousand words but I don&#;t think they quite grasp the beauty of this desk if you can look past the defect mine had upon inspection. The Bamboo finish is silky to the touch and looks great against the contrasting black legs. For those of you wondering why I didn&#;t get the white legs &#; I didn&#;t feel like the contrast was large enough as well as it is used as a gaming setup occasionally. I wanted the dark vibe to my gaming setup.

Overall, the Fully Jarvis Bamboo aesthetics are an understated and modern and good balance between office and gamer vibes.

Usability

The Jarvis Bamboo standing desk comes configured with the premium desk adjustment module with memory management and presets built-in. This sweet little unit comes with collision detection (and varying settings of sensitivity), and four presets to save your own height settings which is handy for those of you that share your office desk setup with others.

My Fully Jarvis Hybrid Work from Home & Part Time Gaming Setup

I have dual usages for my desk; Programming during the day to make a living with, with either me or my son video gaming in the evening and / or at night. For both uses, the Jarvis Bamboo Curved desk excels.

The curve on the desk stops everything from feeling so far away from me, so my eyes are never strained nor am I left feeling like my screen is to close. The ability to stand up and adjust the height of the desk whilst programming increases my productivity whilst at work and at the same time releases some of the pressure on my lower back. Sitting all day really does increase the pressure on my lumbar spine increasing the risk of injury.

Conclusion

The Fully Jarvis Bamboo standing desk is a beautiful adjustable office desk. It is a sturdy surface to work from with great build quality and aesthetics.

While this desk is not the most gamer-focused, it is still an amazing investment and a middle ground between a plain office desk and a full-on gaming desk with led light integrations and sharp lines (I&#;m looking at Secretlabs).

Is a Fully Jarvis Standing Desk Worth It?

So the burning question considering you might be asking; Is a Fully Jarvis Standing Desk worth the money? After all, with the current economy () times are tough and not everyone might have £698.99 (at the time of writing) to splurge on a desk.

My honest opinion is; Despite the defect with the top which I am sure they will resolve &#; Yes, the Fully Jarvis Bamboo desk is worth the money. The competition either is similarly priced and has lower weight tolerances or there is huge waiting lists like with the Secret Labs Magnus Pro which currently has delivery times.

Why did I choose to Buy the Fully Jarvis Desk?

Well, after some late-night research on a few forums and Reddit, I come to the conclusion that the Jarvis was superior to the other available options in a couple of ways.

First, there were reports that the Flexispot had some wobble and while wobble is to be expected at full extension the second point really sealed the deal for me &#; The Flexispot standing desk is rated to carry 125kg while the Jarvis is rated to carry 158kg which I am sure you will agree, is a sizable amount of weight.

I don&#;t call 33 bags of sugar a small amount of weight, do you?

Should I spec the Curved Jarvis Fully Bamboo Desk?

This is a question of hot debate amongst most people buying a new standing desk and really comes down to preference. If you plan to share your desk or have multiple setups on it, it might be wise to skip the curve. The reason is that the curve really does centre you on your desk and everything around you. While this is great for a single-setup desk, it might not be ideal for a multi-computer setup.

If however, you will only be running the single gaming PC with a single or multiple monitors, I would highly recommend the curve option when speccing your Fully Jarvis Bamboo Desk.

Are the Fully Desk Leg Casters Worth it?

If you require the ability to move your desk around quickly without any hassle or risk of damaging your setup, I would definitely recommend speccing the locking castors.

They are a great addition and give me the option to move my desk where ever I want in my room. When you take into consideration that my bedroom is also my office, it can be really handy to change the position of my desk to free up space for other activities.

The 3 Best Standing Desks in | Reviews by Wirecutter

For years, the Uplift V2 Standing Desk has been our pick for the best standing desk for most people. It accommodates a wide range of heights, and it&#;s stable even at its tallest setting. And it has a greater variety of attractive customization options than you&#;ll find on any competitor.

Want a productivity and energy boost? Push a button to raise the desk so you can move a little while working. Feel like leaning back in your chair for some deep focus time? Push another button to lower the desk.

An electric, height-adjustable standing desk provides the best of both worlds.

No matter how great your office chair is, you&#;re not doing your body any favors by sitting in it for the whole day. But being on your feet constantly isn&#;t good for your comfort or health, either.

This desk works well for small spaces, and it has a height-adjustment range that&#;s ideal for people between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-5. But the controls aren&#;t intuitive and have limited preset options.

Because you can set it around 3 inches lower than competing desks, the V2-Commercial can better fit people who are shorter than 5-foot-4.

This is the most customizable desk we&#;ve ever tested, and it works for a wide range of heights (people between 5-foot-4 and 6-foot-9).

We favored desks with 30-day refunds (at least), free return shipping, and assembly that&#;s no more challenging than for IKEA furniture.

Your workspace is highly personal, and that includes your desk. So we looked for models that offered lots of customization options.

Since good desks are a big investment, we think they should come with excellent, fast customer service and at least a five-year warranty.

We selected desks with frames that fit people under 5-foot-4 (the average height of US women), as well as those suited to taller people.

Of the desks we&#;ve tested, the Uplift V2 Standing Desk offers the best mix of performance and features. It responds quickly to control-pad input (from your choice of five keypad designs), and it produces minimal wobble, even at tall heights.

It accommodates average seated and standing heights for men and women. But if you&#;re under 5-foot-4, this desk likely won&#;t work for you if you don&#;t use a footrest. In that case, we recommend the Uplift V2-Commercial Standing Desk, which has a lower minimum height.

We found the Uplift V2&#;s walnut laminate to be attractive and realistic, and panelists loved the look of the 1-inch curved bamboo desktop, as well. If you&#;d prefer a different style, Uplift has more than 30 desktop options, including several unusual but expensive wood tops, such as acacia and pheasantwood.

You can also choose from four frame colors, five grommet colors, and three keypad colors, as well as multiple add-on accessories.

We like that the Branch Duo Standing Desk comes with a compact, 36-by-24-inch desktop that works well for small spaces, like a home office or studio apartment.

Surprisingly for a small desk, it has a two-tier lifting column that&#;s ideal for people between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-5. Most other two-tier lifting columns we&#;ve found accommodate narrower height ranges, such as between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet. While the Duo&#;s height adjustment range of 28 to 47.5 inches works best for taller people, even our 5-foot-tall panelists and a panelist in an electric wheelchair said they could adjust it to their liking. (It&#;s best to find your height preferences and consider your ergonomic setup before selecting a good standing desk.)

But the Branch Duo has only five laminate finishes, and it doesn&#;t offer nearly as many customizable features as our Uplift and Fully picks. The control paddle can also be clunky to use, and it can&#;t accommodate more than two presets, which may be an issue in multi-user households or offices.
